We seek suppliers who respect their workers and communities and are reducing their environmental impacts. Our supplier code of conduct sets globally consistent criteria for all our sourcing partners.

Supplier Diversity

Small businesses make an important social and economic contribution in the communities where we operate. We aim to support these companies, including those owned by groups underrepresented in business.

Cocoa

Our business depends on a long-term supply of quality cocoa, and this will only be achieved by putting farmers first. By 2020, 100 percent of our cocoa will come from certified sources.

Palm Oil

Mars uses just 0.2 percent of global palm oil supplies, but we are committed to sourcing via the RSPO’s mass balance program by 2013, and to 100 percent RSPO-certified supplies by 2015.

Overfishing is threatening the availability of many wild fish and creating competition for the remaining resources. Mars has pledged to source all fish globally from sustainable sources by 2020.

We are committed to sourcing 100 percent of our coffee and tea from certified sources, and work with farmers and industry partners to raise social, environmental and economic standards.

Packaging Materials

Our strategy is to reduce, recycle and rethink our packaging, using lifecycle analysis to provide a full understanding of the impacts of different materials from sourcing to disposal, including the role they play in protecting our products.

Other Raw Materials

We are committed to working with industry, governments, suppliers and other partners to ensure we source key ingredients such as sugar, mint, tomatoes, peanuts, corn and dairy products responsibly in the long term.
